Our Pastors
Pastor Joshua Farmer started Open Hands in 2021 with a passion and a burden to share the love of Christ with the people of downtown Nashville. His vision for Open Hands is to be an impactful community of believers that leads by service to others, and sharing the love of Christ through action in the community. He currently serves as lead pastor of Open Hands. Joshua is a Nashville native and his favorite things about Nashville are the food and the people. Outside of preaching inspirational messages, he can be found spending time with his family and friends.
Pastor Rachel Farmer has embraced the calling to serve the people of Nashville through Open Hands. She has a love for people and has a heart for women and children who struggle with food and shelter insecurities. She is dedicated to reaching these communities in the Nashville area. Rachel also serves in the Children's Ministry of Open Hands and as a mentor to young ladies with a desire to serve. She is a Texan by birth but a Tennesseean at heart! Rachel's favorite thing about Nashville is its food scene and natural beauty. Outside of changing lives, she can be found at a park with the kids or traveling to new places with friends and family.
This dynamic duo has served in ministry for over 10 years through youth leadership, music ministries, and mentoring aspiring leaders. They have two wonderful children, Zechariah and Chloe.
